Acne is a disease that affects nearly 85% of people between the ages of 12-24. It can be embarrassing and unsightly. Acne can appear almost anywhere on the body (some examples are back acne, and any other type of body acne). Proper daily skin care is essential to promoting a health complexion. However, natural acne treatments are sometimes not enough. When this is the case, the first step is to consult a dermatologist. They will have a variety of acne solutions and acne treatments, which revive your clear complexion in no time. There are a variety of acne treatments, all aimed at eradicating blemishes, stopping flare-ups and clearing up your skin.

What is acne?
Acne is a disease that directly affects oil glands in our skin. It starts with a simple lesion, which is called a comedo. A comedo is a large hair follicle that is plugged with oil, dead skin cells and bacteria. The skin produces more oil, which continues to become trapped in the follicle. Further inflammation occurs as white blood cells attempt to quell the rising trespassers.
There are various types of acne that include: whiteheads, blackheads, pimples and cysts. If a pore becomes clogged, seals, and bulges out from the skin, it is referred to as a whitehead. If it congests but stays open, the surface may become dark, which leaves a blackhead. Occasionally the pore walls are breached, allowing sebum, bacteria, and dead skin cells to get under the skin. This causes a small, red infection better known as a pimple. Clogged pores that open up deep in the skin can lead to more serious infections known as cysts.
Many common misconceptions of acne do exist. First, acne is not caused by a lack of washing one's face. While it is best to wash with a form of mild cleanser daily, washing to often can actually cause more inflammation and more acne. Second, diet has been found to have little affect on outbreaks (however, it is better to be safe rather than sorry so if some foods seem to perpetuate a breakout it is best to steer clear).
Obesity is a headache! You can override this headache by using some weight loss and fitness techniques. The best would be using a diet pill or using some soup diet in order to decrease your daily calories. |
