Health clubs are not a new trend in America. Dating back to the days of Arnold and his body building films, health clubs have been a focal point for exercise and fitness throughout the United States. People use gyms for a variety of reasons, some are looking to just strength train, while others seek aerobic workouts and flexibility from pilates, to running, to swimming, to yoga. Many of today's top health clubs provide an atmosphere to improve your strength, however, cardio classes have been increasing in gyms throughout the country for the last half-decade. Health clubs have also recently added facilities to promote both recreational and league sports like basketball, members of theses clubs are able to enjoy these sports while also having the luxury of a weight room right around the corner.

Why Workout?
For decades professionals in the health community have been praising the benefits of working out. Working out can improve your physical as well as mental health. The following is a brief list of benefits obtained from working out.
Improves Mental Sharpness
Various studies have reported that people who work out on a regular basis have a better memory, better reaction time and improved concentration than their sedentary equivalents. And it doesn't take much: walking for 45 minutes three times a week is enough to improve your degree of mental sharpness. Aerobic activity stimulates the middle-frontal and superior parietal regions of the brain, which are associated with attention and keeping goals in mind.
Slowing of the Aging Process
After the age of thirty most people lose 10% of their aerobic capacity each year. Regular exercise, however, can actually make you more aerobically fit as you get older. Skin and muscle tone are also improved by working out, as are increases in flexibility and reductions of many age-related diseases, such as osteoporosis, heart disease and stroke.
Strengthens Your Immune System
Many studies have shown that working out improves your immune systems ability function. In teenage and adult men, exercise is a powerful natural immune cell stimulator. In older men, the functioning of the immune system progressively declines, which can lead to an increased risk of infectious diseases and a reduced response to vaccination. These affects can be offset by participating in cardio exercises like jogging, cycling or walking.
Better Sleep
Working out allows you to fall asleep and stay asleep more easily, and it also increases the amount of time you spend in the deepest stage of sleep. It also makes the transitions between sleep cycles more smooth, which gives you a better nights sleep.
