Most visitors to Las Vegas come for the entertainment--gambling and the shows. Most of the well-known hotels, casinos and shows will be found on "The Strip," which is Las Vegas Blvd. South. There are several web sites which lists the casinos, including vegasclick.com, insidervlv.com, and a2zlasvegas.com. Keep in mind that the casinos are a part of the hotels. The larger hotels will be home to more than one casino. If you've come to see your favorite entertainers, they will also be found in the hotels. Following is a partial listing of hotels, casinos and shows for your consideration.
- Circus Circus
Features a real live circus and carnival midway, so if you're traveling with the kiddies, you'll want to stop here. There's also a 5-acre theme park with roller coasters, laser tag and an IMAX theater. There are three full-sized casinos featuring slot machines, table games and a poker room. Shop for fashion items, sports memorabilia, and gifts and collectibles, too. - Treasure Island
Home of the very popular - and free- pirate battle shows, you'll also enjoy TI's casino and slot machines, table games, poker, and sports book betting. Catch a comedy act, too. Popular commedians such as Bill Engvall will play here. - MGM Grand
For shows, catch the likes of David Copperfield, Howie Mandel, Chicago, Tom Jones, Bon Jovi, and Donnie & Marie Osmond. The Academy of Country Music Awards are held here, as are many championship boxing matches. When it comes to gaming, all your favorites such as blackjack, craps, roulette, and baccarat; slot machines and poker, and sports book betting, will be found here. Even if you don't stay at this hotel, you can still come enjoy the exciting entertainment and casino.
- Caesars Palace
A well-known landmark on the Las Vegas Stip, Caesars books acts such as Bette Midler, Jerry Seinfeld and Elton John for entertainment. Caesars boasts of more than 129,000 feet of casino space, and features table games, poker, slots, keno, and sports betting. Caesars Palace is also home to more than 120 shops for your shopping pleasure. - Las Vegas Hilton

For your entertainment enjoyment, you can catch Barry Manilow, Boz Skaggs, Heart, George Lopez, Tony Bennett, Donna Summer, ZZ Top, and more. The Simmer Cabaret offers a more intimate setting, and features David Brenner or Sunset Strip-a Song and Dance revue. Especially if you're a Star Trek fan, you won't want to miss "Star Trek the Experience" or the Star Trek Museum. You can also enjoy off-Broadway productions such as "Menopause The Musical." You'll also find great shopping experiences in many Hilton stores, such as the Barry Manilow store, Deep Space Nine Promenade (if you're a Star Trek fan), the Strip Store (for Vegas and Elvis themed souvenirs), and more. - Mandalay Bay
Gaming at the hotel at Mandalay Bay is a whole different experience, as you play in a tropical setting of flowing water and tropical foliage. You'll find your favorite table games, poker, blackjack, slot machines here. For entertainment, the Mandalay Bay hotel features a 12,000 seat Events Center, where you'll see superstars such as Ricky Martin and Bette Midler, BB King, Cheryl Crow or Bob Dylan; World Championship boxing matches, and the hit show "Mamma Mia."
