What makes Battlefield 2 better than its predecessors, is that there's more of an attempt to instill some method to this the games unpredictable nature. Battlefield 2 is full of excellent new features designed to make coordinating your strategies much easier. The new voice-over IP system means that real-time voice capability is built into every single copy of the game, provided you get a headset.
You should note that Battlefield 2 keeps track of an amazing array of statistics, like the number of kills you make per weapon, your favorite kit, the map you play the most on, and more. Medics are rewarded for reviving fallen soldiers, engineers are rewarded for repairing vehicles, and so forth. It becomes apparent that collecting these medals proves to be a reward in and of itself.
A ranking hierarchy makes the game uniquely different to other titles. Players act out roles of commander, squad-leader or, generally, squad members with a vast array of guns, vehicles and materials at their disposal. Each squad-leader has 5 squad members to command. The mixture of ranks and classes makes Battlefield 2 delve into more realistic military gameplay than its predecessors.
The different vehicles have a nice feel to them and great balance as no vehicle group dominates another. Light vehicles zoom from point to map, turning sharply and severely outpacing ground travel. Heavy armor vehicles barrel along, offering stunning firepower while jets and helicopters flyby overhead.
No game is without faults, albeit faults that can be fixed. Firstly, the graphics card requirement for this game is astounding. If your not up to snuff with computer advancements, you can forget about playing or throw down a hefty sum of cash to upgrade. There are also some problems with loading times and bugs due to its recentness. Criticism aside, this is a game of endless hours - possibly infinite hours - of enjoyment.
