This online gambling guide offers general information on how some of the basic games are played, from poker, to routlette, to blackjack, craps, and sports betting, and how to bet and win!
Blackjack
Blackjack is an easy game to learn, the object of the game is to get the highest hand without going over 21, yet getting a higher score than the dealer. Face cards have a value of 10, the ace is usually worth 11 points but can also be worth 1 point. The other cards' value is the same as the number on them. The dealer passes out two cards to each player as well as to himself. One of his cards is dealt face up, the other face down. Players' cards can be dealt either face down or face up. The fun begins when you try to determine whether to take a "hit" (another card) to get closer to 21, or to "stand," (take no more cards).
Poker
There are many variations of Poker, including Texas Hold'em, Omaha Hold'em, 7-Card Stud. Played with a deck of 52 cards, 4 suits, 13 ranks. The Ace is the highest ranking card, the Deuce is the lowest. There are rankings for winning, from the straight flush down to high card. You'll definitely want to practice first, either at home with friends, or in online casinos which allow you to play for free until you are comfortable with your understanding of the game.
Roulette
A game of chance involving a wheel with numbered slots in which a ball must land. Roulette is one game which player strategy doesn't seem to matter, the only thing the player has to worry about is calling the numbers he hopes will win. To win at Roulette, the player needs to successfully predict which slot the ball will fall in after each spin. Some players go with the "hot" numbers, others will watch and play the numbers that haven't come up for a while. There are some strategies, including the Martingale System, that reportedly help you figure your chances of winning.
Craps
Craps is played on a "craps" table with a pair of dice. The player rolls his set of dice across the table until they hit the opposite end of the table. If you roll a 7 or 11 on the first throw, that's a "natural," and you win. Roll a 2, 3 or 12 on the first throw, that is called "craps," and you lose. Roll a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 on the first roll and this number becomes your "box point." You continue to roll until you roll that number again. If you roll a 7 before making your box point, you lose.
Slots
Insert your money, pull a handle, cross your fingers and hope to win when the little fruits line up in a row? That was then, today's slot machines are computer driven and much more sophisticated. Many online sites will help you learn winning strategies.
Sports Betting
